Enable the correct framework/curriculum:
To ensure you have the correct frameworks enabled, follow these steps:
More > Settings > Learning > Curriculums > toggle on the frameworks that you wish to use.
Add a child's starting point:
Children > Child > Learning Journey > Framework > Create Formative Report > Term: Starting Point > input period of time you are assessing > Type of report: Formative report > Create Report.
Select the โBirth to 5โ tab, and fill out progress levels and age groups. After doing this, you can add any additional comments.
๐Note: All sections on formative reports are optional. If you select 'Share on parent app' at the top of the formative report, parents will not be able to see any blank areas.
Why should I create a Starting Point assessment?
You'll have heard the phrase 'start as you mean to go on', and a Starting Point assessment is made on that principle. By knowing what level a child is starting at within your nursery, you can tailor their learning to develop the skills they're least proficient in and practise those they already know.
Without a Starting Point assessment, children can fall behind on their development as their skill gaps won't be known in order to be filled.
