Enrolling a child on Blossom is quick and easy!

Add a Child & Contacts

  • Children > Add a new child > Input general information > Add the contact details (select New or Existing) > Review > Enrol Child.

You will then be asked if you would like to add the childโ€™s booking pattern now or later.

If now, you can find the steps for this on the article โ€˜Booking Patternsโ€™.

Once the child has been registered, the child will appear on the 'Children' page.

Below is the information that will be needed when following the process of adding a child.

Information required to add a child on Blossom

General Information

Enrolment details

Contacts

  • First name, middle name & surname

  • Display name

  • Date of birth

  • Address and postcode

  • Allergies and dietary preferences

  • Start date & registration date

  • Room

  • Sessions & attendance period

  • Select existing or new contact*

  • First name and surname

  • Upload a photo of the contact

  • Contact information & address

  • Specific information & permissions


Child Contacts

When adding a child to Blossom, you will need to add at least one contact (though you can add as many as you'd like).

  • Select 'New Contact' if the person is not listed as a contact already for any current or previous children at your setting.

  • Select 'Existing Contact' if the child has a sibling, for example, where the contact has already been added. You will be able to choose the existing contact from a dropdown list.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: Tick on 'Parental Responsibility' if you want the contact to be able to sign accident forms & use the instant messenger in the parent app!

How do I change a parent's email address?

If the parent's current email address is being used for their parent app login, Blossom will not allow you to directly edit the email address within the contact.

You will need to follow the steps below:

  1. Add the parent with the new email address as a new contact:

    1. Children > select child > Contacts > + Add new contact > input information and new email address > Add new contact.

  2. Remove the incorrect contact:

    1. Children > select child > Contacts > select contact with previous email address (edit pencil) > 3 dots > Remove.

Once the child and contact are added, remember to update the child's permissions.

Child Permissions

The child's general, media, and medical permissions can be edited in the child's About section of their profile once the child has been added onto Blossom.

  • Children > select child > About > click 'Edit' next to any section > Update.

Parents cannot edit child permissions in the Parent App, as this is more sensitive data that they will need to inform the nursery about directly. Only nursery staff can edit a child's permissions.

To view the history of who has made edits to the child's profile, you can follow these steps:

  • Children > select child > About > 3 dots: Profile history.
