Creating Rooms
More > Rooms > + Create
When adding a room, provide the following details:
Room name: This is the name of the room.
Start Age: The age the children will typically be when they enter this room.
Finish Age: The age the children will typically be when they leave or move to the next room.
Capacity: The maximum number of children the room can hold.
Ratio: How many staff you need in relation to the amount of children.
Minimum staff required: The amount of staff you need at an absolute minimum. For example, if you had 1 child in this room, would you need 1 or 2 staff members? This is used to calculate the staff required on the staff rota.
Once the rooms have been created, they will appear as shown below.
Editing and archiving rooms
On this page, you can filter by active, archived & all rooms. You can also edit your rooms here too.
To archive a room, please follow these steps:
More > Rooms > Click edit key on specific room > Here you can archive or edit the room details > Save.
Room types (When the Staffing Module is activated):
If you do not have the staffing module activated, please contact support@blossomeducational.com to upgrade your package.
When creating a room, there are three room types:
Teaching room: These are rooms that include children.
Non-teaching rooms: These are rooms without children that are used for staff management (e.g. office, kitchen).
Outdoor location: The same as non-teaching rooms, but specific to outdoor areas (e.g. garden).
Minimum staff required for Non-teaching and Outdoor locations: There are no children’s requirements, so you can create more specific rules for staff required on each day of the week.
